About Premier Coal
Premier Coal operates a major open cut coal mine in Collie, Western Australia, primarily providing power generation fuel for the State’s south-west integrated electricity grid. Yancoal manages the Premier Coal operation on behalf of its majority shareholder Yankuang Energy Group Company Limted (Yankuang Energy).
Based near Collie, a town of over 9,000 people, Premier Coal is an important contributor to the local economy providing employment for over 500 people and supporting a wide range of regional industries and community-based activities.
Operating 24 hours a day, seven days a week, Premier comprises open-cut areas and provides resources to a range of domestic markets.
